Aus der Kritik Armstrongs, die in Brett Sutton durchaus veritable Kaliber des Sports vergleichbar geäussert hatten, entspannte sich etwas, dass sonst nur in der Off-Season zu beobachten ist: "Disappointed to read Lance Armstrong’s comments that those of us working so hard towards our Olympic Tri dreams are participating in ‘a joke,’" führte Whitfield aus, bevor es im bekannten Tenor weiterging

Armstrong wird sich schon bald, beim Ironman 70.3 St. Croix am 6. Mai mit dem ein oder anderen Olympioniken und 70.3-Spezialisten die Diskussion Vis-à-vis unter tropischer Sonne fortführen können, wenn er seine Jagd nach Kona-Punkten fortführen wird.
